New York, NY | MBB Architects
The extensive multi-phase restoration of Trinity Church Wall Street continues, as MFLD updates for every interior and exterior space, including the Chapel of All Saints along with the terraces and grounds. The completed interior renovations include sustainable LED lighting throughout; uplighting to enhance the 65′ vaulted ceiling, downlighting for pews and strategically concealed fixtures to accentuate restored architectural features. For the first time in its 174-year history, the nave and side aisles are illuminated by MFLD designed custom-crafted hanging pendants that provide light levels to match modern standards within historically appropriate decorative lanterns. Lighting is finalized for floodlighting the steeple, facades and grounds, as well as illuminating the new Tom Denny-designed stained-glass window to be installed on the east side of the Church. Winner of a 2023 Lumen Award of Merit by the Illuminating Engineering Society (IESNYC).
